CRLAB Hair
Prosthetic System

Hair replacement,
made around you.

Hair loss can change how you feel about everyday moments. A custom hair system offers another way forward—with coverage designed around your scalp, your hair, and the way you want to look.

A conversation first. A plan shaped around your needs.

Understanding the system

Real hair.
A personalized foundation.

A hair prosthetic is a hair replacement system worn over an area of thinning or hair loss. CRLAB builds a custom base to follow the contours of your head, then inserts individual human hairs into that base by hand.

The base is colored to complement your scalp, and the hair is selected and arranged to create the intended shade, density, and direction. The finished system is attached using an adhesive and styled at fitting.

The system provides hair coverage. It does not regrow hair or address the medical cause of hair loss.

01 / Your fit

Shaped to your scalp

Digital measurements guide the shape of the base and the area it will cover.

02 / Your hair

Selected with care

CRLAB uses unprocessed human hair, chosen for the desired color and appearance.

03 / Your look

Finished for you

Hair placement, cutting, and styling bring the completed system together.

The making of your system

Measured precisely.
Crafted by hand.

From the first measurements to the final style, CRLAB’s process combines digital modeling with individual craftsmanship.

  1. Map the area and take measurements

The area needing coverage is identified. A 3D scan records the contours of your head and is used to create a physical model for the custom fit.

  2. Match the hair and the base

Hair colors are selected, and pigments are added to the polymer base to complement your scalp tone. The base provides the foundation for the hair.

  3. Place each hair individually

Individual hairs are inserted into the base by hand, following the intended distribution and direction. This takes place in the system itself, not in your skin.

  4. Fit, cut, and style

After compatibility testing, the system is attached with adhesive. A personal fitting and final styling help bring the shape and look together.

Living with your system

Ongoing care is
part of the fit.

A custom system needs a care routine, just as your own hair and scalp do. We’ll discuss what that means for your schedule before you decide.

At maintenance appointments, the adhesive is removed and both the scalp and the system are cleansed before reattachment. Cutting and styling may also be part of the visit.

A little more clarity

Questions you
may be considering.

You don’t need to know all the terminology to start a conversation.

Is this a hair transplant?

No. The hair is inserted into a custom base that is worn on the scalp. It is not transplanted into your skin, and the system does not stimulate new hair growth.

Will I need to shave my existing hair?

CRLAB describes its system as designed to fit without shaving the underlying hair. The appropriate fit and attachment approach should be reviewed for your particular hair and scalp.

How is it attached?

The system is held in place with an adhesive. CRLAB’s process includes allergy and compatibility testing before fitting. Tell us about sensitive skin or previous adhesive reactions so these can be considered.

Could it be an option for my hair loss?

It may be worth exploring if you want coverage for thinning areas or more extensive hair loss. Suitability depends on your scalp condition, the area to be covered, and your ability to keep up with maintenance. If you have an active scalp condition or are receiving medical care, your clinician may need to be involved.

Can I wash, exercise, and style my hair?

Discuss your usual activities at consultation so you understand the care instructions and any restrictions for your system. Get specific guidance on washing, swimming, heat styling, and products before trying them.

How much does it cost, and how long does it take?

The system is customized, so request a personal estimate that includes the initial system, fitting, ongoing maintenance, and eventual replacement. Production timing and expected service life should be confirmed for your system before you commit.
