Polarized light microscopy
We examine hair bulbs under a high-powered microscope using polarized light. This adds a microscopic view of the bulbs to the scalp images and measurements gathered during your consultation.
We discuss the microscopy observations alongside your history and scalp findings, so the additional detail becomes part of one considered assessment.

What is the difference between the two analyses?
Hair & Scalp Analysis includes your overall consultation, trichoscope examination, and measurements of scalp sebum, hydration, and pH. Comprehensive Hair & Scalp Analysis includes all of those elements plus polarized light microscopy of the hair bulbs.
Which analysis should I choose?
Contact us with your concerns and we’ll help you choose the appropriate consultation. You do not need to decide on a treatment before your analysis.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
We’ll confirm hair-washing and product-use instructions when you book. Bring details of your current hair-care routine, any treatments you’ve tried, and the changes you’ve noticed. For Comprehensive Analysis, we’ll also explain the hair-sample collection process.
Are the consultations in person?
Yes. Both analyses take place in person, so we can examine your hair and scalp and take the scalp measurements.
Can an analysis identify every cause of hair loss?
Hair and scalp findings are considered alongside your history. These analyses do not establish every possible cause of hair loss or replace medical evaluation or laboratory testing when needed.
Are treatments included in the analysis?
These are assessment appointments. We review your findings and discuss recommendations with you. Treatment programs are a separate next step, with the proposed care explained before you begin.
